Trail Shoes with Built-In Gaiter
Salomon, one of the top brands for trail running shoes, will come out with the XA Enduro in 2017. So these trail shoes seem like they are designed perfectly for the mountain runner. Most noteworthy is the fact that they have a built-in gaiter perfect for both cool and hot days. The release date for Salomon’s XA Enduro is February 1, 2017.

First Bi-Directional Belay
Wild Country has come out with the first bi-directional belay for climbing known as REVO. Claiming to be the safest belay on the market, this belay therefore has an assisted locking system. Since this belay is made to reduce confusion and concern, it makes climbing approachable to all. Furthermore both right and left-handed users can use this easy device to prevent mis-loading the rope.

Eco-Friendly Rain Jacket
Columbia has done it again in the rain jacket department with their OutDry Extreme Eco rain jacket. Most of all, this jacket is environmentally friendly. In conclusion the garment is PFC-free, made of 100% recycled polyester, and does not use any dyes. Furthermore Columbia’s rain jacket “OutDry Extreme” technology is used, since it does not have a DWR coating but a waterproof breathable barrier. This jacket should be available in Spring of 2017.

Pack with Freedom of Motion
Arc’teryx has come out with the revamped Bora AR 50 pack. Most of all, this backpack has a unique hip belt and back support system. Due to this, the pack offers the wearer with freedom of movement. The hip belt has a 3-dimensional ball joint, known as RotoGlide. RotoGlide fluidly follows the length and straightening of the wearer’s back while hiking tough terrain. This especially relevant feature reduces lumbar and hip discomfort. This pack will be available in spring of 2017.

Petzl is introducing its revamped GRiGRi+ safe belay system. Rather than using the older model, this model has some added features. As a result the new system, perfect for climbers just learning belay systems, features an anti-panic function and two modes of operation for lead climbing or top-rope belaying. The GRiGRi+ will be available in April 2017.

Latest Rooftop Tent
Known as White Lightning, Tepui has finally come out with the latest rooftop tent that will probably turn heads. The tent makes installation on top of a car rack a complete breeze. Also when condensed, it is only 8 inches high, making it aerodynamic while driving. Furthermore the tent has a hard exterior and has a rack system on top so you can carry your bikes, skis or kayaks too. This tent is available in 2017, but pre-ordering has already started.

Patagonia has revamped its Nano-Air jacket by offering a lightweight version called the Nano-Air Light Hybrid. Since this is the skinnier version of the original, it is sure to offer protection from the cold while not being too bulky while skiing, climbing or doing other activities during the chilly months. Furthermore the front of the jacket is not only insulating but breathable.
